Datec Estimates Thick Film Heater Life of Over 100,000 Hours at 662°F (350°C)

At Datec, we pride ourselves on delivering reliable and long-lasting heating solutions to our customers. Recently, we conducted an in-depth analysis of our test data after 30,000 cycles (40 minutes is 1 cycle, 30 seconds on, 10 minutes off) to ensure the stability and performance of our thick film heaters. Here are the key findings from our analysis:

Heater Performance Overview:

We analyzed two Stainless Steel based heating elements from the dataset after they had undergone 30,000 cycles. Our goal was to determine their stability and predict their performance over an extended period.

Heaters 1 and 2:

Both heating elements have shown excellent stability and fit well with the asymptote model. Despite some drift around 10,000 cycles, they have reached their predicted asymptotic values after 30,000 cycles. Statistical analysis of data over the last 15,000 cycles indicates that the slope of the resistance drift versus time curves are not statistically different from 0 at the 95% confidence level, confirming their stability over the last 15,000 cycles.

Conclusion:

Based on the analysis, we can confidently state that these heating elements are stable and unlikely to drift further. The model implies that these heaters will remain within specification even after 100,000 cycles.

Technical Insights for Customers:

For our customers, particularly those in the food equipment industry, these results are promising. The stability of our heating elements ensures consistent performance, which is crucial for maintaining the quality and efficiency of their equipment.
